In my first month on a Disney contract, my copywriting partner and I were asked to help launch a new top-tier Disney card. The existing spots looked like they were animated in Keynote, so the brief was simple: what could we do beyond that?
Oh and whatever we made would debut in Times Square.
We swung for the fences. The scripts and boards landed well, the ask grew to three spots, and I got my first crash course navigating a heavily corporate environment. The scripts changed almost weekly thanks to feedback and shifting park schedules.
The result? Card sign-ups were 40% higher than projected in the first week.
I call a project a win when one day your job is thumbing through a folder of Chewie sounds provided by Lucasfilm.
